"Great Way To Promote Generalization! This book is a great way for kids to be exposed to a repetition of target sounds in a fun and engaging way. Kids can hear the sounds read to them and practice the sounds themselves. This book is a great way to start a conversation about how to move your mouth to produce the sounds. In addition, the fun storyline and engaging pictures allow you to easily target language skills (describing, retelling, predicting, etc). This book is a great way to functionally practice skills and promote generalization. I will use it in my Speech Therapy practice and recommend it for home use. I’m excited see what sounds the next book targets!" - Meanie, SLP
"I feel like I’m winning as a parent when I read this to my daughter - icing on the cake is she loves it too! There is an adorable song that goes along with the book on the author’s website. We sing it together...the worm ewww! Can’t wait for the next book in the series." - Anonymous Barnes and Noble/Google Reviewer
"My 3 Year Old And I Adore This Book Already! I got this book as an Advanced Review Copy because I signed up for it through Twitter. I am SO glad I did. My daughter is 3 and my son is 1 and he’s a littttttle too young, but she LOVES it! I’m pretty sure I know it by heart now. My daughter loves the puppy in the story, and I saw the next cover has a lot of cats- 100% going to order it as soon as it’s ready!!!!!!" - Emma May, Barnes and Noble Review
"My youngest is a Kindergartner who is loud and opinionated and has a slight speech issue. He'd enjoyed the first book in this series, 'Wendy's Winter Walk', so I bought 'Ted and Tina Adopt a Kitten' to expand our collection. Totally worth it!
As my opinion matters less than the intended audience, here's what my child's review: "The kittens are so cute!"
Okay, so parents may need more than that. 'Ted and Tina' weaves in the directions of mouth movements as well as incorporating the usage of the sounds, encouraging the child to repeat the sounds aloud. For an impatient six-year-old, my son giggled and delighted at making the sounds. Unlike with most books, he gets more practice and without realizing it, his speech is making improvements.
I highly recommend 'Ted and Tina Adopt a Kitten' for any young reader. " - L.T. Amazon/Goodreads Review
"This is a fun and adorable story about two siblings that adopt a pet cat. However, it is so much more than just a cute story. Since it focuses on a particular group of phonemes it can be used for other aspects of language as well. Children can practice saying these similar words to work on speech development. Beginning readers can listen and look for words that contain one of the featured sounds to develop auditory discrimination skills as well as letter and word recognition. Highly recommended as a book that will grow with your child." - Renae Gigon, Amazon Review
"This book is not only adorable it captures my daughters attention. I worry about her speech development because of mask wearing at her school/daycare. Reading this book helps me focus our reading efforts - which is transparent to my daughter (double win). After enjoying the first book in the series - Wendy’s Winter Walk - I shouldn’t be so surprised this one is equally amazing...but I am :) " - BT, Amazon Review
