Cass Kim, M.A. CCC-SLP earned her master's in Speech-Language Pathology from Central Michigan University. She is currently a full time author, editor, and owner of Central Oahu Speech, a private practice. Combining her need for therapy resources with her love of writing, Cass has created a series of books that could be wonderful in schools, in therapy, and especially at home with parents that want the very best for their kids.

Speech is an important part of communication, and the frustration that comes with difficulty communicating is familiar to Cass. With the need for increased home resources for speech development and home practice with the community wide changes due to COVID-19, Cass set out to make an approachable, fun, sound-specific way to help families. This book series and the accompanying website is designed to provide much needed clear, easy to access resources for parents to keep speech development and practice in the home fun and fresh.

Kawena VK has provided the beautiful and fun illustrations for the "Sounds" book series.

Kawena VK grew up in Hawaii with a great fascination for art and nature. She learned through a traditional atelier at the Windward Community College where she was inspired, by her college instructor, to pursue art. She later received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hawaii. With her family and friends, Kawena has found a deep sense of happiness through her love for drawing and painting.
